The ambience here is one of a private palazzo. A beautiful 17th century staircase leads to a wealth of 18th century frescoes, beautiful stucco work and antique furniture that span the centuries. Just 11 individually decorated suites with magnificent period features are enhanced by silk fabrics, brocades and works of modern art by prominent contemporary artists. The Duomo is close by, but to avoid the crowds cross the river to the beautiful Boboli Gardens, behind the Pitti Palace.
